Scope

This standard specifies the stability, strength and durability test methods for desks designed for sitting or standing, including workbenches, height-adjustable tables, and conference tables. This standard applies to products that have been fully assembled and ready for use. This standard does not include the test method of the memory function part, this part of the test method refers to ISO7170. This test method includes loads, forces and speeds acting on different components, simulating various use states of the desk in normal use and foreseeable misuse. Except for the tabletop deflection test, this test does not consider factors such as material, design, construction, and production process when evaluating performance. The test results are only valid for the tested samples. If the tested sample can be used as a representative of a certain production model, then the test results of the tested sample can represent the performance of the same production model. The tests carried out in accordance with this standard are to prove that the product can provide satisfactory performance in its intended use environment, but such tests cannot guarantee that the product will not suffer structural damage after habitual misuse and prolonged use . The test methods of this standard are applicable only to unused products or components. If the test method is proved to be reasonable and effective, it can also be applied to the defect investigation of the product. This standard only specifies the test methods and does not contain requirements. Requirements can be specified in a separate requirements document. If no documentation is required, refer to Appendix A for force values and cycle times. This standard does not cover the evaluation of product aging and degradation performance.
