- This standard gives general specifications for superconducting sensors and detectors, which are the basis for the specifications for various types of sensors and detectors in other parts of IEC 61788. The sensors and detectors are primarily composed of superconducting materials and rely on superconductivity or related phenomena. The measured objects (physical quantities) include magnetic fields, electromagnetic waves, photons of different energies, electrons, particles, alpha particles and others.
