- This document specifies the preparation of samples for the analysis of particles in powders using an energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) or a spectrometer (WDS) mounted on an electron probe (EPMA) or scanning electron microscope (SEM). According to the purpose of analysis and particle size, the preparation methods of powder particle samples are classified. This document applies to inorganic particles with particle sizes ranging from 100nm to 100μm. This document is not suitable for some special applications, such as forensic analysis or trace analysis.
