This document specifies the design requirements for oil boom end connectors (hereinafter referred to as connectors) used to prevent the spread of oil spills at sea, and specifies the minimum mating characteristics of the connectors, but is not limited to specific configurations. Consider using different types of connectors in different areas. This document does not define any priorities. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer and user to select the appropriate connector for the intended application. The connector's stabilizing characteristics are the result of the interaction between the boom float and the connector. This document is not intended to address all safety issues, if any, associated with its use. However, it is the user's responsibility to establish safety and health procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
