- This standard specifies the method for analyzing radioactive gamma nuclides in biological samples by germanium [HPGe, Ge(Li)] or sodium iodide [NaI(Tl)] gamma spectrometer. This standard applies to biological samples of radioactive gamma nuclides whose activity is higher than the detection limit. In addition to sampling and sample preparation, the gamma spectrum analysis method specified in this standard is also applicable to other non-biological samples in principle.
