Scope

This standard specifies a set of basic coding rules for generating transfer syntax for values of types defined by the GB/T 16262 notation. The Basic Encoding Rules are also used to decode the transfer syntax to identify the data values being transferred. Basic encoding rules are used during communication (by presentation service providers when a presentation context is requested).
