This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements of food additive L-ascorbyl palmitate. This standard is applicable to L-ascorbyl palmitate prepared by reacting palmitoyl chloride with L-ascorbic acid after palmitic acid and thionyl chloride reaction, which can be added to food as an antioxidant and nutritional enhancer for supplementing vitamin C.
