Scope
This standard is applicable to AC 50Hz or 60Hz, rated voltage not exceeding 440V, rated current not exceeding 125A, rated short-circuit capacity not exceeding 25000A, the operating function has nothing to do with the line voltage or is related to the line voltage with overcurrent protection Residual current operated circuit breaker (hereinafter referred to as RCBO). These devices are used to protect people from indirect contact, connect exposed conductive parts of equipment to a suitable earth electrode, and overcurrent protection of wiring equipment for buildings and similar purposes. They also provide protection against fire hazards caused by persistent ground fault currents due to inoperative overcurrent protective devices. The RCBO whose rated residual operating current does not exceed 30mA can also be used as a supplementary protection measure when the electric shock protection measure fails. This standard applies to devices that can simultaneously detect residual current, compare the residual current value with the residual operating current value, and disconnect the protected circuit when the residual current exceeds this value. The device can also switch on, carry and break overcurrent under specified conditions. Note 1 This standard is based on GB16916.1 for the content of action under the condition of residual current. The content of this standard on overcurrent protection is based on GB10963. 2RCBOs are mainly used by non-professionals and do not require maintenance, they can be submitted for certification. 3IEC364 provides the installation and use regulations of RCBO. 4 RCBOs within the scope of this standard are suitable for use as isolators (see 8.1.3). When excessive overvoltages are prone to occur on the power supply side (for example, the power supply is introduced through overhead lines), special protective measures (for example: using lightning arresters) may have to be taken (see IEC364-4-443). Note: For RCBOs with a degree of protection higher than IP20, special construction may be required. This standard is also applicable to RCBOs assembled from common residual current devices and circuit breakers. The mechanical assembly can be done by the manufacturer in the factory or on site. At this time, the requirements of Appendix G apply. This standard also applies to RCBOs having more than one rated current, provided that the means for changing the rated current from one value to another in normal use are not accessible and the rating cannot be changed without the use of tools. Necessary technical requirements can be supplemented for plug-in RCBO. RCBOs fitted into household and similar general-purpose plugs, sockets or connectors, or RCBOs intended for use in combination with them, must be subject to special technical requirements. Note: At present, the technical requirements of this standard can be used together with GB 2099.1 for RCBOs installed in plugs and sockets or RCBOs specially used for plugs and sockets. This standard does not apply to: -- RCBOs used for motor protection; -- Setting current RCBO whose value can be adjusted by the user at the time of use. The technical requirements of this standard apply to normal environmental conditions. For RCBOs used in areas with severe conditions, necessary technical requirements may be added. RCBOs using batteries are not included in the scope of this standard
