Scope

This specification is applicable to surge suppression varistors for protecting electronic equipment or other surge-sensitive equipment from damage in DC power supply or AC power supply with a frequency not greater than 400Hz. The piezoresistors within the scope specified in this sub-standard are not used as the main protective components for lightning surge protection.
