- The purpose of this standard is to provide a unified standard for the design, manufacture and testing of drilling equipment and its main section. This standard applies to the following drilling equipment: rotary table; rotary table core bushing; rotary table slips; drilling hose; drilling pump parts; drawworks parts; tongs. Functional and operational requirements Drilling equipment should be designed, manufactured and tested to achieve the intended purpose, the equipment should be able to safely transmit the intended load, and the operation should be simple, safe and reliable. Additional requirements apply only when specified by the purchaser in the contract or order (see Appendix A)
