Scope

This standard is only applicable to newly manufactured static active energy meters (hereinafter referred to as instruments) and their type tests for measuring 45Hz-65Hz AC active energy with accuracy levels of 0.2S and 0.5S. This standard is only applicable to static watt-hour meters for indoor use, with one or more measuring elements and counters installed in the same case and connected to the transformer. Note: IEC60185 provides regulations for transformers with a measurement range of 0.01In～1.2In or 0.05In～1.5n or 0.05In～2In and transformers with accuracy levels of 0.2S and 0.5S with a measurement range of 0.01In～1.2In . When the measurement range of the watt-hour meter and the connected transformer must be the same, and only the transformers with grades of 0.2S and 0.5S have the accuracy requirements of the working instrument in this standard, the measurement range of the meter can be 0.01In ~1.2 In. This standard also applies to instruments for measuring bidirectional electric energy. This standard does not apply to: active energy meters with terminal voltage exceeding 600V (line-to-line voltage for three-phase watt-hour meters); portable meters and outdoor meters; standard meters. This standard applies only to the metering part if the display and/or storage is external, or if other devices (such as maximum demand indicators, telemeters, time switches or remote controllers, etc.) are included in the meter. This standard does not include acceptance tests and conformance tests. This standard does not include mechanical performance requirements for embedded instruments.
