- This standard describes the key elements and basic ideas of the control chart method, and expounds various control charts related to conventional control charts (Shewhart control charts), control charts with process acceptance, or control charts with heavy online prediction. Control Charts. This standard outlines the basic principles and concepts, and illustrates the relationship between various control chart methods to assist in the selection of the most appropriate control chart standard for a given situation. This International Standard does not specify statistical control methods using control charts. These methods are ISO 7873 and ISO 7966 and related standards developed later.
