1.1 The purpose of achieving the goal is that no matter it is pure software, pure hardware or a combination of software and hardware, it can realize a floating-point system that meets this standard. System programmers or system users can know compliance with this standard. Those parts of hardware that require software support for compliance with this standard are not considered to be in compliance with this standard without software. 1.2 Contains the provisions of this standard: 1) Basic and extended floating-point number formats; 2) Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square root, remainder and comparison operations; 3) Conversion between integers and floating-point numbers; 4) Different floating-point numbers Conversion between point formats; 5) Conversion between basic format floating point numbers and decimal number strings; 6) Floating point exceptions and their handling, including handling of non-numbers (NaN). 1.3 Not included This standard does not specify: 1) The format of decimal strings and integers; 2) The interpretation of NaN symbols and valid fields; 3) The mutual conversion between binary and decimal in the extended format.
