The IRDS family of standards specifies software tool products that can be used to describe and potentially control an enterprise's information resources. It defines the structure and partial content of data maintained at the IRD definition level, and data structures maintained at the IRD level. Services for modifying and querying data at these two levels are also defined. See GB/T 16647 for details about the IRDS series of standards. This standard specifies service interfaces, which enable any program to fully access all IRDS services through the external call interface provided by the programming language. This standard defines interface semantics and describes the binding with Pascal (GB/T 7591) language. The binding with C language is provided by Annex C, the binding with Ada language (ISO/IEC 8652) is provided by Annex D, and the binding with CORBA IDL is provided by Annex E. Bindings to other standard programming languages are provided in other standards. This standard does not take into account the implementation environment and specific runtime or compilation interfaces.
