This standard specifies the measurement methods and limits for the vibration under specified conditions of rotating electrical machines detached from any load or prime mover. This standard applies to DC motors and three-phase AC motors with a shaft center height of 56mm and above, a rated output of less than 50MW, and a rated speed of 600 r/min to 3600 r/min. For vertical motors and flange-mounted motors, this standard applies only to motors for which measurements can be made in free suspension. This standard does not apply to motors installed at the place of operation, three-phase commutator motors, single-phase motors, three-phase motors powered by a single phase, vertical hydro-generators, permanent magnet generators or series-excited DC motors.
