Scope: This standard specifies the definition of price/sales catalog messages (PRICAT) for use in electronic data interchange (EDI) between administrative, commercial and transportation trading partners. It is usually sent by the seller to the buyer to describe the pricing and catalog information of the goods and services provided; it can also be sent by the buyer to the seller to explain the buyer's special requirements for labels or packaging, etc. Acknowledgment (accept or decline) of price/sales catalog. This standard applies to both domestic and international trade. It is based on common business practice and is not limited to a particular type of business or industry.
