This standard specifies the definition of the UN standard party information message (PARTIN) for electronic data exchange between trading parties. Party information messages can be used for the electronic exchange of administrative, commercial and transport data between trading parties. This standard applies to domestic and international trade. It is based on common business practice and is not limited to a particular type of business or industry. When implementing this standard, the following rules can be followed: - Accurate trading partners and their operating parameters are the basic elements of EDI; - Participant information messages can be used to maintain the master data files of the participants. Party information messages are used to describe information related to physical or functional locations. A functional location usually refers to a specific department within a company. The indicators of modification, deletion and addition are given in the BGM segment, corresponding to each required function type, which should be realized by a separate message.
