Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for the graphical symbols described in the computer electronic file format in the reference symbol library and the requirements for the exchange between computer-aided tools. The reference symbol library can be used as the basis for technical documentation, inter-computer aided tool exchange of documents and graphic symbol libraries. This standard does not include the specification of the physical file format required for exchange.
