Scope
This guiding technical document puts forward some basic principles used to determine the connection of large distorted loads (generating harmonics and/or interharmonics) to the public power system. Its main purpose is to provide guidelines for engineering practice to ensure appropriate power supply quality for all connected system users. Since the guidelines presented in this GTP must be based on certain assumptions, there is no guarantee that these methods will always provide the optimal solution for all harmonic problems. The recommended methods should be used flexibly, and when to use the given evaluation procedures in whole or in part should be decided according to the actual engineering situation. Whether the equipment that produces distortion can be connected to the power system is ultimately decided by the power supply company. Problems related to harmonics fall into two basic types: - Injection of harmonic currents into the supply network by converters or other harmonic sources. Harmonic currents and the resulting voltages can be considered conduction phenomena. The purpose of this standard is to limit the actual harmonic voltage in the power supply network to a level that does not cause harmful effects on sensitive equipment (compatibility level). Since the harmonic voltage is caused by harmonic current and impedance, it must Harmonic currents are limited. - Harmonic currents in the range of 50Hz to 5kHz may introduce interference into the communication system. This phenomenon is more pronounced due to the increased coupling between circuits at higher harmonic frequencies and the higher sensitivity of communication loops in the audio frequency range. The focus of this guidance technical document is mainly on the control or limitation of harmonic voltages and their effects, but there is also a chapter dealing with interference with communications
