- Scope
- The limits specified in this standard apply to all types of surface imperfections in general requirements for bolts, screws and studs. Applicable bolts, screws and studs: The nominal thread diameter is equal to or greater than 5mm; The product grade is A and B; The performance grade is equal to or less than 10.9, unless otherwise specified in the product standard or a special agreement between the supplier and the buyer. The limit of surface defects of bolts, screws and studs for special requirements (such as automatic assembly) is specified in GB/T 5779.3. When the engineering technical conditions used require stricter control of the surface defects of bolts, screws and studs, the applicable limit shall be specified in the relevant product standards or specified by the user in the inquiry and order. Even if the surface defects reach the allowable limit specified in Chapter 3, the mechanical and working properties of the product should still meet the minimum requirements of GB/T 3098.1. In addition, the dimensional requirements of the corresponding product standard shall be complied with.
