- This standard specifies the symbols, definitions, samples, test equipment, test procedures, processing and calculation of test results, and test reports of test methods for fatigue crack growth rates of metallic materials. This standard is applicable to standard compact tensile C(T) specimens (hereinafter referred to as C(T) specimens), standard central crack tensile M(T) specimens (hereinafter referred to as M(T) ) sample), standard unilateral notched three-point bending SE (B) sample (hereinafter referred to as SE (B) sample) to measure the constant force amplitude fatigue crack growth rate of metal materials greater than 10-5mm/cycle ; Determination of the low-speed fatigue crack growth rate and fatigue crack growth threshold value △Kth of less than 10-5mm/cycle; the flexibility method and the potential method for determining the fatigue crack length are provided in the form of appendices, Special requirements for the determination of fatigue crack growth in aqueous media, the determination method of fatigue small crack growth and the determination method of fatigue crack opening force. Under this premise, the thickness and strength of the specimen are not limited. Specimens other than those specified may be used in this standard, provided they have an applicable calibrated stress intensity factor.
