Scope

This part of ISO 10001 specifies all the content required for the determination, labeling and verification of the noise emission characteristics of rotating electrical machines under standard conditions. At the same time, it also stipulates the applicable noise test method, the running state and installation method during the test. Noise emission characteristics include sound power level and emission sound pressure level, the determination of these quantities is used to: - compare the noise emitted by motors; - enable the manufacturer to determine the declared value of noise emission; and - control noise. Application of this standard ensures the same level of accuracy as using the basic noise test method for determining noise emission characteristics. The noise test methods in this part are allowed to be laboratory method (level 1), engineering method (level 2) and simple method (level 3), and engineering level (level 2) method is generally recommended. This section applies to motors of any length, width or height.
