Scope: This standard specifies the principles, symbols, specimens, test equipment, test procedures, test result evaluation and test reports of metal material upsetting test methods. This standard is applicable to metal materials in the following cross-sectional dimensions (diameter, side length or inscribed circle diameter) range, which is 3mm~30mm for cold upsetting test and 5mm~200mm for hot upsetting test. Appendix A gives a method for checking the surface quality of hot-rolled discs and wire rod upsetting tests. This method is suitable for cross-sectional dimensions (diameter, inscribed circle diameter) ranging from 6mm to 30mm and in the shape of bars, wires and discs. Delivery of metal materials.
