Scope: This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, structural performance, test methods, manufacturing and production tests, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation, and storage of household and similar storage-type electric water heaters (hereinafter referred to as water heaters). The safety performance of the water heaters involved in this standard meets the requirements of GB 4706.1 "General Safety Requirements for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances" and GB 4706.12 "Special Requirements for Safe Storage Water Heaters for Household and Similar Electrical Appliances". Electric water heaters using other auxiliary energy sources shall also comply with this standard.
