- This part specifies the physical layer high-performance expansion specification of Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum System (DSSS) wireless LAN. The physical layer is referred to in this standard as the Extended Rate PHY (ERP). The physical layer works in the 2.4GHz ISM frequency band. This part applies to the higher data rate extension of wireless local area network in the 2.4GHz band.
