Scope: This standard specifies the grade, size, shape, weight and allowable deviation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, signs and quality certificates of carbon structural steel. This standard is applicable to hot-rolled steel plates, steel strips, section steels and steel bars generally used for welding, riveting and bolting engineering structures. This standard specifies the chemical composition and is also applicable to steel ingots, continuous casting slabs, billets and their products.
