Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for short pitch precision roller and bush chains and sprockets suitable for mechanical transmission and similar applications, including dimensions, tolerances, length measurements, pretension, minimum tensile strength, and minimum dynamic load strength . Although Chapter 5 can be applied to sprockets of bicycles and motorcycles, this standard does not apply to chains of bicycles and motorcycles. The standards for bicycle and motorcycle chains are specified in GB/T 3579 and GB/T 14212 respectively.
