WARNING—Personnel using this standard should have practical experience in formal laboratory work. This standard does not address all possible safety issues. It is the user's responsibility to take appropriate safety and health measures and ensure compliance with the conditions stipulated in the relevant national laws and regulations. This standard specifies two methods for the determination of the performance of rubber or plastic reinforced hoses and unreinforced pipes bent to a specified bend radius. Method A applies to both reinforced and non-reinforced hoses with an inner diameter of 80 mm or less. The method also provides a measure of the stress required to achieve a specified bend radius at a specified internal pressure. Method B Bending properties, including the stress required for bending, may be determined at a range of temperatures from -60°C to +200°C. The characteristics of the device define that it is suitable for small diameter reinforced and non-reinforced hoses, ie inner diameters up to 12.5mm.
