Scope
WARNING: Personnel using this standard should have practical experience in formal laboratory work. This standard does not address all possible safety issues. It is the user's responsibility to take appropriate safety and health measures and ensure compliance with the conditions stipulated in the relevant national laws and regulations. This standard specifies the test method for flex cracking and crack growth of vulcanized or thermoplastic rubber using a Demesia type testing machine. This standard is applicable to the determination of the resistance to flex cracking and crack growth of vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber after repeated flexing. To determine the resistance to crack growth, an artificial incision should be made in the specimen in advance to induce crack growth.
