Scope: This standard specifies the size, geometric dimension accuracy, optical quality and radiation attenuation performance of medical diagnostic X-ray protective glass plates. This standard is applicable to X-ray shielding protective glass plates used in radiation equipment or radiation apparatus, among which SC type protective glass plates are used for the transmission of optical visual images, and VI type protective glass plates are used for observation purposes. This standard does not apply to other transparent radiation protection materials, such as: transparent plastic shields (leaded plexiglass), leaded glasses or eye shields and leaded face shields.
