Scope: This part specifies the classification of environmental parameter groups and their severity levels encountered in the installation, shutdown, maintenance and repair of stationary products in places without weather protection. Products for permanent or temporary installation for fixed use in non-weather protected locations, including impact sites and offshore. Products intended for use on and in vehicles are excluded. This section specifies environmental conditions limited to those that directly affect product performance. Only such environmental conditions shall be considered. The effect of these environmental conditions on the product is not described. Environmental conditions caused by fire, explosion and ionizing radiation are not considered, nor are other accidental contingencies. In special cases, the probability of occurrence of these factors should be considered. The microclimate inside the product is not included. The storage and transportation conditions for fixed use and non-fixed use vehicles and ships in weather-protected places are specified in other parts of GB/T 4798. A limited number of environmental condition classes cover a wide range of applications. Users of this section should select the lowest level that can cover the expected conditions of use.
