- This standard is one of a series of standards concerning the sampling and testing of paints, varnishes and related products. This standard specifies the method for determining the density of paints, varnishes and related products using a pycnometer. This method is applicable to the determination of the density of low and medium viscosity materials at the test temperature. Hubbard pycnometers can be used to determine the density of high-viscosity materials.
