In order to realize the recognition of magnetic ink characters, the first part of this standard stipulates the shape, size and allowable error of 10 numbers and 4 symbols; describes various printing defects, allowable errors and other related matters, and specifies the signal level The measurements are explained. This standard also mentions the OCR technology that is often associated with El3B Magnetic Ink Character Recognition. The characters specified in the first part of the standard were originally developed for the automated processing of data by banks, but are also applicable to other automated information processing systems. Note: The term "magnetic ink" in this standard refers to magnetic ink with magnetizability and recognizability.
