This standard specifies the method for measuring the corrosion resistance of glass in hydrochloric acid solution at 100°C by flame emission or atomic absorption spectrometry. The acid resistance of glass is expressed by the mass of alkali oxide precipitated per unit surface area. This standard is applicable to borosilicate glass products with good acid resistance. If the sample is pretreated with acid, the acid resistance of glass materials can also be determined.
