Scope: This standard specifies the management objectives and basic requirements for the various stages of radioactive waste generation, collection, pretreatment, treatment, conditioning, transportation, storage, disposal and discharge, as well as related activities such as decommissioning and environmental remediation. This standard is applicable to the management of radioactive waste produced in all links of the nuclear fuel cycle and the application of nuclear technology and the development and utilization of uranium and thorium associated mines. The management of radioactive waste generated by other practices can also be implemented by reference.
