Scope: This standard specifies the chromaticity area range and test method for the color of light signals (including flashing signals). This standard applies to signal lights used in marine, inland waterway, road, air and rail transportation systems, including signal lights used on ships, automobiles, aircraft and trains. This standard also applies to signal lamps and monitors on industrial control monitoring dashboards. This standard does not apply to automobile headlamps and fog lamps. It is also not suitable for light sources with a very low color temperature used in marine signal lights.
