Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of iron content in rubber by 1,10-phenanthroline photometry. This standard applies to raw rubber, mixed rubber and vulcanized rubber with an iron content of 5.0 mg/kg to 1000 mg/kg. For samples with higher or lower iron content, it can be determined by properly adjusting the quality of the sample or the concentration of the test solution.
