- Scope
- This standard applies to electric toasters for household and similar purposes. The purpose of this standard is to describe and define the main performance characteristics of toasters of interest to users, to describe standard methods for measuring these characteristics and to give certain guidelines for evaluating test results. Considering that the low level of accuracy and reproducibility is due to time and variation in origin of test materials and components and subject to the subjective judgment of the test operator, the test method described can be more reliably applied to comparative tests of a batch of utensils , at approximately the same time, in the same laboratory, by the same operator using the same utensils, rather than in different laboratories using the same utensils. This standard does not address safety. This standard does not apply to appliances designed solely for commercial or industrial use.
