- This standard specifies the chemical composition and physical and mechanical properties of sintered metal materials used in the manufacture of bearings and structural parts. When selecting powder metallurgy materials, it should be noted that their performance depends not only on chemical composition and density, but also on the manufacturing process. The properties of sintered materials used for specific purposes are not necessarily the same as those of wrought and cast materials used in other working conditions.
