Scope: This standard specifies the performance requirements for piping systems composed of plastic pipes and fittings (or metal fittings) for conveying hot and cold water under pressure. All kinds of pipes and pipe fittings made of specified grades of plastic raw materials shall comply with the corresponding product standards and the requirements of this standard. This standard establishes a classification system for pressure conveying hot and cold water piping systems under normal use conditions, as the basis for performance evaluation and design of thermoplastic pipe and fitting systems. This standard applies to the following plastic piping systems used to transport water in buildings with working pressures of 0.4 Mpa, 0.6 Mpa and 1.0 Mpa: a) piping systems for hot and cold water, including drinking water b) piping systems for heating with hot water. This standard does not apply to fire protection systems and heating systems that do not use water as a heating medium.
