Scope: This part specifies the standard bench test method and test equipment for the effect of gasoline detergent on intake valve and combustion chamber deposits. This test method involves an engine dynamometer test procedure for evaluating the tendency of spark ignition engines to form deposits on the intake valves and combustion chambers using unleaded motor gasoline. This part applies to the evaluation of the detergency of gasoline detergents, and also applies to the evaluation of the detergency of unleaded gasoline for vehicles. Note: This section does not describe all safety precautions, and it is the responsibility of the method user to take corresponding safety and sanitation measures and whether they comply with relevant regulations before use.
