- This section specifies the minimum requirements for the establishment of services and interface requirements to be provided by MAPLE. The provisions of this section are particularly applicable to software developers, system integrators and software tool developers in the MAPLE environment. The provisions required by program developers, planners and operators in a manufacturing automation environment are outside the scope of this standard. This section only specifies the application layer interface between MAPLE and software programs. The creation or deletion of manufacturing databases, and the specification of MAPLE Data Dictionaries and MAPLE Software Dictionaries beyond the dictionary definition schema are outside the scope of this standard.
