Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements for the diagnosis of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE). This standard applies to the diagnosis of bovine spongiform encephalopathy; it can also be used for the diagnosis of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (TSE) in other animals.
