Scope
This standard applies to electrical and electronic equipment intended for use in industrial environments and for which there are no specific product or product class immunity standards. The frequency range of this part is DC to 400 GHz. No tests are required at those frequencies for which immunity requirements are not specified. Where there is a relevant specific product or product class electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) immunity standard, the product standard or product class standard will take precedence over this general standard in all respects. The environment covered in this section is an industrial environment, including both indoor and outdoor aspects. The equipment covered by this standard is intended to be connected to a power network supplied by a high-voltage or medium-voltage transformer, intended for the supply of equipment in manufacturing plants or similar plants, and equipment intended to operate in or near an industrial environment. equipment used in industrial establishments is characterized by one or more of the following: - has an electrical network supplied by a high-voltage or medium-voltage transformer, dedicated to supplying equipment in manufacturing plants or similar plants; - industrial, scientific and medical Equipment (ISM); - Large-capacity inductive or capacitive loads that are frequently switched on and off; - Large currents and their accompanying strong magnetic fields. The purpose of this standard is to specify the immunity test requirements of related equipment working under continuous, transient, conducted and radiated disturbances, including electrostatic discharge. The selection of immunity requirements for equipment in an industrial environment should ensure a suitable immunity level. However, these immunity levels do not cover some extreme conditions that may occur in any location with a very low probability. The tests in this section do not include all electromagnetic disturbance phenomena, only those disturbance phenomena related to this section are considered. This standard specifies the test requirements for each type of port considered. Note 1: This section does not include security considerations. Note 2: In some special cases, it may appear that the disturbance level exceeds the test level specified in this section. For example, electrical appliances installed close to the ISM equipment specified in GB 4824 or handheld transmitters used close to electrical equipment. In these cases, specific mitigation measures may be necessary. Note 3: The industrial environment may be changed by special mitigation measures. Where it is shown that by means of these measures an electromagnetic environment equivalent to that of residential, commercial and light-industrial environments can be obtained, general standards or relevant product standards relating to such environments should be adopted.
