- This standard specifies the safety rules that should be observed in the manufacture and installation of passenger elevators, hospital bed elevators and freight elevators, so as to prevent accidents that may injure passengers or damage goods when elevators are running. This standard applies to electrically driven traction or forced passenger elevators, hospital bed elevators and cargo elevators. This standard does not apply to debris elevators and hydraulic elevators.
