Scope: This part of GB/T 4798 classifies the environmental parameter groups and their severity to which products are subjected during transportation from one place to another. This section considers the most common modes of transport and mainly includes the following: Road transport: cars, trucks, animals, conveyors; Rail transport: trains, trams, conveyors; Water, inland and ocean transport: ships , Hovercraft, conveyors; air transport: aircraft, conveyors; vertical transport: cranes, transport elevators, cable cars. This section specifies the environmental conditions that the product may encounter during transportation. If the product is packaged, the ambient conditions apply to the packaged product. This section only covers the more severe environmental conditions that are detrimental to the product. The environmental conditions of the product during storage and use are given in other parts of GB/T 4798. The purpose of this standard is to classify the environmental parameter groups to which the product may be subjected during land, water and air transport, including loading and unloading. This standard gives a limited number of environmental condition ratings, but covers a wide range. The user should select the lowest class that includes the environmental conditions to be transported. Guidelines are given in Appendix A.
