- This specification applies to polar and bipolar solid and non-solid electrolytic tantalum capacitors for electronic equipment. This specification includes long-life capacitors and general-purpose capacitors. Additional requirements may need to be added for special capacitors. This specification includes three basic subcategories, namely: Subcategory 1: Non-solid electrolyte foil electrode tantalum capacitors. 1A: Ordinary foil electrode 1B: Corroded foil electrode Subcategory 2: Non-solid electrolyte porous anode tantalum capacitor. Subclass 3: Solid electrolyte porous anode tantalum capacitors.
