The focus of this standard is on the function of end effectors and gripper-type grippers as defined in 4.1.2.1. This standard defines the terminology of object handling with gripping grippers and the terms of function, structure and components of gripping grippers. Informative appendix A also gives the format of the representation of the characteristics of gripper grippers. This form applies to the following situations: a) The manufacturer of the end effector provides its product characteristics to the robot user. B) The robot user indicates its desired end effector requirements. C) The robot user specifies the properties of the objects being handled and the properties of the objects being handled in a given robot application. This standard is also applicable to simple operations not involved in industrial robots, such as users and sellers of loading and unloading devices and master-slave manipulators.
