- This standard specifies the size, shape, weight and allowable deviation, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, signs and quality certificates of stainless steel for surgical implants. The chemical composition of the grades specified in this standard is also applicable to steel ingots, billets and their products. The mechanical properties of the samples prepared from the final products processed with the materials of this standard do not have to fully meet the indicators specified in this standard.
