Scope: This standard specifies the exhaust smoke measurement methods and measuring instruments for diesel engines during free acceleration. This standard is applicable to diesel engines for non-road mobile machinery operating under various operating conditions (such as diesel engines for loaders, bulldozers, tractors, loading and unloading machinery, forklifts, road construction machines and mobile cranes). This standard does not apply to diesel engines for automobiles, three-wheeled vehicles and low-speed trucks.
